Microbiology And Its Importance

01/08/2015 11:20

Microbiology is a branch of biology that deals with the study of microorganisms. The people who do microbiological research are called microbiologists. What makes this branch of biology so important? Well, imagine the tiniest object you use every day, like a paperclip. Now imagine how hard it would be to use it if it were 1000 times smaller. That is exactly what makes microbiology challenging and interesting. We are surrounded by millions and millions tiny organisms that we can’t see. Yet they play a very important role in everyday life, both good and bad.Studying them is extremely important to know how they can help or harm you and how you can harness their utility or protect yourselves from microorganisms or microbes. It is important that everybody understand the importance of microbiology. Else you are missing out on the most fundamental aspect of life around you.

There are bacteria in your large intestine that helps produce vitamins and help prevent other disease causing bacteria from entering that region. Majority of the oxygen that we breathe is not produced by plants. In fact, they are produced by microbes like algae, which account for 70% of the oxygen production in the planet. Yeast is a microbe used in making bread that many of us love. There are other microbes that are responsible for the production of cheese. So without microbes, you do not have cheeseburgers. Can you imagine a world without cheeseburgers? Microbes can kill you too. Yes, disease causing bacteria and virus have responsible for epidemics throughout human history.

Medical Research

Microbiological research is extremely important for our survival. Without the research, we would never have invented medicines to cure diseases. But curing disease is just one aspect of microbiological research. There are lot more to it. For example did you know scientists are researching on creating biofuel from plants? For this, the help of microbes is definitely needed. Plants as it are not fuel materials. But with a little help from microbes, they can be disintegrated into materials that make them fuel. Once again, this is just one example about the endless possibilities in the field of microbiology.

Microbes exist everywhere around us and even in places where a human cannot survive for more than a few seconds. It is essential that we understand these microbes. That makes microbiology and microbiological research extremely important in our everyday life.

Microbiological research and the Trivedi Effect®

The Trivedi Effect® is a natural phenomenon that has forayed into the field of microbiology, and various researches are being conducted using the Trivedi Effect®. Research conducted on various pathogens including HIV and tuberculosis have proved that the potency of the pathogens were decreased using the Trivedi Effect®.
