Dairy farming is a traditional run family business in several states of India and other countries. Today this business has grown hugely in an organized way with new technological innovations in every part of the process. It is a long-term production of milk which is produced at the dairy place for the sale of the dairy product. Any mammal can produce milk; dairy farms are typically of high producing dairy cows. Commercial dairy farming includes camels, sheep, and goats. It was a class of agriculture for thousands of years. This is feasible where there is a large consumption of milk goods such as butter, cheese, curd, cottage cheese, etc. There is a considerable market of persons with no cows of their own and buy milk with cash.

Dairy farming is centralized around villages because of grazing land and through this process farmers can make extra money by having animals and selling the dairy products in town. The livestock farmer can fill the containers and bring it to the market for sale. Usually, the milking is done by hand. Large dairy farming has as many as 100 cows but an individual milkman cannot be anticipated to milk more than a dozen cows in a daytime.

In 2001, Mr. Mahendra Trivedi lent a hand to a group of entrepreneurs who had invested in about 200 cows but had been facing massive problems for five years. This huge boost in the dairy farming has created a lot of farming jobs. Still many of the dairy farms manage to run organic farms common in villages and to produce and supply milk to many retail outlets and companies.

Milking is usually done twice a day that is in the morning and evening. Feeding of animals could happen with milking in the shed whereas most of the dairy animals were pastured in the day in the mid of the milking process. There should be a proper animal care as it may lead to the production of high-quality milk. Treating animals with care and respect is a part of dairy farmer’s legacy. There are many welfare practices adopted by the dairy farmers such as good medical care, nutritious diet, shelter, tail docking dehorning, animal handling, transportation and hygiene living conditions to give them good health.

The equipment used for milking should be properly cleaned before and after each use to preserve the milk. Milking machines are used to deliver the milk from a cow in a refrigerated tank maintaining the temperature of 38 to 45 degrees Fahrenheit to preserve freshness and security of the milk.

All milks definitely contain somatic cells which are nothing but the white blood cells. Somatic cells are the count of the general well-being of the cow. Higher counts certainly do not mean that the cow is ill. Strict standards should be set by the government to check the counts for somatic cell. Milk Processors should check and test their milk; milk that fails to meet the standards does not go into the food supply.

Dairy products help us to lead a healthy life. Healthy animals usually produce 6 to 7 gallons of milk in a day. And they are treated like the stars to make sure they get what they want and need in order to keep the milk flowing. On an average, they eat nearly 100 pounds of food and drink 20 to 25 gallons of water in a day.

The future of any dairy farming depends on the health of the newborn calves. Calves should receive the mother's first milk which is rich in protein, fat, and natural building process. Using the latest technologies like Energy Transmission by Mahendra Trivedi can help you to boost the efficiency of the farmers and also take care of the animals and the surroundings. Dairy farmers should be committed to providing you and your family the wholesome milk.
